About Us
The Cultivate Safety website is a product of the National Children’s Center for Rural and Agricultural Health and Safety (NCCRAHS) and the National Farm Medicine Center (NFMC). The centers focus their research and outreach activities on enhancing the health and safety of farmers, ranchers, their families and employees, by helping them identify and address hazards associated with agricultural work and rural environments.
In addition to addressing adult agricultural health and safety since 1981, NFMC has been the home of NCCRAHS since 1997. NCCRAHS is one of 11 Agricultural Centers funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and the only center that is national in scope and focused on children. NFMC collaborates with many of the regional NIOSH Ag Centers. For example, NFMC consistently partners with the Upper Midwest Agricultural Safety and Health Center through outreach, research, and co-directorship.
